With so many electronic and at-home options for test prep, read on to see why we recommend preparing students in a classroom for the Gifted and Talented Exam.
A Teacher's Presence
Children will respond differently to a teacher as opposed to a parent . The presence of a teacher in a test prep environment encourages students to behave as they have learned to do so in class, with respect for the work and attention to detail.
Exposure to the Material
Children need to be exposed to the material on the Gifted and Talented Exam before sitting for it. The test asks a lot of the students! Exposure makes for a no-stress testing experience.
Small Group Learning
Work in a small group encourages students to seek greater understanding of the subjects, since they are surrounded by peers with the same goals and everyone is engaged in each topic together.
Increasing Each Student's Knowledge Base
The questions on the tests may be specific to an activity or culture with which a student is not familiar. Prepping in the classroom ensures that they will be exposed to or taught about those unfamiliar topics in order to gain knowledge and answer the questions correctly.
