Gifted and Talented Programs aim to deliver accelerated, rigorous, and specialized instruction aligned to the Common Core Learning Standards. Registration for the Gifted and Talented exam is available to New York City students entering Kindergarten and grades 1-3. The test consists of two parts: the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT) and the verbal portion of the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT). In order to apply to a district-wide Gifted and Talented Program, students must score 90 or above on the Gifted and Talented Test. Those who score in the 97th percentile or higher are eligible to apply to city-wide Gifted programs.
